However, the theme that Cole makes most evident is that happiness comes from within, that nothing should permeate the love and happiness that comes from inside. This can be seen clearly as the chorus of the song is the phrase, “No such thing as life that’s better than yours”. Cole is trying to stress that no matter what you possess or don’t have, true happiness cannot be achieved without “loving yourself” as he describes. Life will always seem somewhat smaller when compared to another that has more.
