Every day I listen to at least one rap song, and nine times out of ten, the artist is rapping about women. Hip-Pop and Rap music is the genre that has been known to humiliate women. It's horrific to think that we have somehow come to accept sexism and discrimination. Artists can say women are not being targeted, but because of this music, the public is convinced that women seek ownership and obedience. Women shouldn't be sexualized or objectified. Celebrities such as Beyoncé and Rihanna, are known for their strong beliefs towards the fight for gender equality.
In the album "Recovery" Eminem talks about losing his mind over a girl he loves. In the song "Love the Way You Lie", he says "But when it's bad it's awful, I feel so ashamed I snapped."
