Just like a society won't be able to get perfect expectations out of the people in it. A good citizen is a person who fights for racial equality and has respect for a persons culture or beliefs by giving people a place in society or by giving other races a chance in a society because if one person in a society didn't obey the law or let other races be equal to each other; then they would set bad examples to other citizens, and some people in that society might follow which would give the lawmakers and people who…

Preceding the show I had relatively low expectations since I am not an Elton John fan and the show was set to his music and was inspired by his journey. Fortunately, my expectations were surpassed considerably. Love Lies Bleeding was a zestful, dynamic, and alluring theatrical experience unlike no other.…

Friends with benefits are relationships where there is a sexual aspect, but the people involved still hold platonic feelings for the other. It is often the case that college students are the ones engaging with friends with benefits because when students leave their homes as well as move into dorms they are free to explore themselves. Through Williams O. Stephens piece, “What’s Love Got to Do with It: Epicureans and Friends with Benefits”, the author explains why college students should not engage in friends with benefits relationships. The author has been through college so he knows that this is a time of liberation for students, but he also acknowledges the freedom to make risky decisions during our college years. Specifically the friends…

The novel, Love Me to Death, by Allison Brennan was about a former victim named Lucy Kincaid, who aspired to become an FBI Agent as a result of traumatic events in teenage years. Lucy Kincaid volunteered part time at Women and Child First (WCF), an organization that tracked online predators, while going through her employment process at the Bureau. Her ability to track various sex-offenders, an admiral quality for a prospective agent, quickly backfired. Lucy Kincaid had to face an array of challenges on her lengthy course to becoming a Federal Agent, and that was the theme of Brennan's novel: the ability to push through adversity. Also known as Jermaine Lamar Cole, J. Cole’s arguably most popular song, “Love Yourz” not only demonstrates palpable humility in which Cole compares the two types of lives he has lived, but also distress to a belief that this nation has built itself around, the American Dream. Rapping at the age of twelve, Cole’s love and passion for creating music has spurred him to become the harbinger of rap music in today’s society. Living with only his older brother, Zachary, his mother, and only the image…

Have you ever heard a song that has impacted your life? Songs are a form of art that allows artists to express their feelings in a form of music. Songs can be interrupted in many ways; some songs have a more literal meaning, while other songs require you to interpret the lyrics to understand the deeper meaning. Artists often use figurative, metaphorical, and poetic elements in their songs to help develop the overall message. The use of figurative terms in a song leaves the interpretation of the song broad and allows the listener to have their own meaning of the song.…

The song “Same Love” by Macklemore is a very powerful song that has a deeper meaning behind it. The Song “Same Love” had changed my opinions and thoughts about gay rights and homophobia(people who have phobia of gay) within the hip-hop community and the world. Also it want us youth of our society to think in a new direction. Humans in our society believe that the actions and activities that people are involved are either classified as gay or straight. “Same Love” starts off with the lyrics, “When I was in the third grade, I thought that i was gay, because i could draw, my uncle was, and i kept my room straight”.…
