Younger teens and kids have different opinions on relationships than adults, which is natural, so I think that the video could have been a little better if their were an older person being interviewed. I also think that a lot of people can relate to what the interviewee’s said about relationships because majority of the time people break up over social media, trust, or loyalty. This documentary covered many idea’s and thoughts that were relatable and common in the world. In summary, this documentary was well made and performed. The questions were excellent along with the choice of people to interview. The background music allowed the documentary to come to life along with the scenery. Also at the end of the documentary, some of Octavia’s videos with her boyfriend were placed in there which in my opinion can make someone feel a certain way and want to be in a relationship. This video can make you feel a certain way especially if you got your heart broken recently or are just not good with relationships. The truth about relationships was all summarized in this short

The documentary, Two American Families, is about two American families (one white and one black) from Milwaukee, the Neumann and the Stanley family, who shared how they lived their lives for two decades. This documentary showed how difficult it was for these families to achieve the American dream, as they were affected by the varying degrees of poverty, unemployment, and poor economy. Watching the documentary, Two American Families, was quite emotional for me. I was able to put myself on these families’ shoes. The documentary showed an example of how a lot of ordinary American families live and face the daily struggles of life.…

Brené Brown’s The Power of Vulnerability, a Ted Talk presented in June of 2010, is a very multifaceted presentation with many different layers of argumentation ripe for analysis. Brown uses her ethos to build rapport on her emotion-based subject. Her credibility relies on her Ph.D. in Social Work, the experiences working in the field she has, as well as her seemingly sage wisdom even she admits was hard to swallow all contribute to the audience’s understanding of her credibility. She creates an extremely convincing pathos through personal stories and experiences, such as admitting her own habits, quirks, and stories that only go to further her point on her ideas of shame, worth, and belonging. Brown continues to even utilize the power of logos…

While listening to the music I envisioned a love story that was encountering a period of anguish; however, once the piano began to play the mellow yet beautiful music, the despair would begin to disappear while the love story would begin to unwind and reveal pictures of their past memories, bringing back the sense of love. After watching the scene, I believe the director along with the composer were able to entirely capture the essence of the music. Watching it with the scene helps guide the listener to envision what the director was trying to convey with the music. The music and the scene are not the only aspects that establish a sense of love and happiness, the minor dialogue and moments of silence help allow the scene to fully come together. With the line “Well I was thinking we don’t have any photographs of us…

The AIDS epidemic was a languid, merciless, killer that claimed the lives of millions in its wake. Often times, the people’s desperate search for a cure was referred to as “The War Against AIDS.” This War eventually was won in the sense that HIV no longer had the powerful to sentence so many people to death. However, it was still a sentence, but this time it was a sentence to a forced life style change. This struggle of AIDS and HIV was depicted in the autobiography Body Counts by Sean Strub.…

While watching Esther Perel’s Ted Talk she discusses multiple important concepts to focus on while in a long-term relationship. The two ideas I found most interesting was the questions she posed along the lines of “What draws you most to your partner?” such as at their work, when they are far away etc. The second question she mentioned that I found interesting was “what shuts you off and turns you on?”. While watching this TED talk I actually thought about my own relationship.…
