Why Is Love Unconditional?

Most people search for love their whole life and never find it. Some people are fortunate enough and will find love. Most people do not really know the definition of love. Even the dictionary has a hard time defining love. Webster’s New World Dictionary gives love nine definitions. Psychology Today states that “Love is a force of nature. However much we may want to, we can not command, demand, or take away love” (Anapol). Love can be kind, emotional, between friends, family, lovers, or even between strangers. It seems that everyone has a different definition of love. No one can agree on what it is. Love is unique. Love is unconditional because it is caring even through the good and bad times.
If someone truly loves someone else they will care for that person through the good and bad times. People can tell someone that they love them, but when the goings get tough they disappear. Love is not easy and if someone expects it to be then they will never be satisfied. Elbert Hubbard

When someone loves someone else they choose to love them despite their flaws. Flaws cause the bad times to come, but eventually, they go away and the good times come. People just have to ride the waves and everything will work out. Love is unconditional. People give up so much for love. People will do anything for the people love, even die. Some people will argue that love is not unconditional and people can still love someone and not care through the hard times. They believe that tough love is not caring through the tough times, but it is just one of the many ways to show caring. They also believe that love is not unconditional because everyone does everything for a reason and expect things in return. People do not always expect things in return because they have stood in the other person’s shoes and understand what they are going through.
