LOVE SACRIFICES, basically what the whole story is about love between Della and Jim and to see how far will they go for each other and neither of them has enough money for a Christmas present, will Della and Jim get enough money for a Christmas present or will they enjoy Christmas with no presents? Christmas eve with only a short amount of time left until Christmas plus there poor so it’s about to be hard to find a least a good/decent Christmas present for each other which brings me to a question have you sold something that you dearly loved for love before if so than good but, Della and Jim have a long way to go and it deals with some tragic event I guess this story has situational irony but, my question will they buy something for each other …show more content…
Jim with a sad look on his sat down on the coach and was about to let out a good number of tears where it would just be cascading down his face. Della thought Jim was sad about her hair but then Jim said: I’m not sad because of your hair I’m sad because of your gift I bought you”. Della opened the gift and saw a golden comb and was shocked but then, she gave Jim his present and he saw a golden chain for his watch. Both Della and Jim looked at each other said how did you get this? Jim said he sold his family’s watch and Della said she sold her hair. After a brief moment of silence Jim and Della sat on the coach and hugged each other and said I love you then, Jim said to Della you know what, how about we enjoy this nice Christmas day and that’s what they did. Which brings me to thesis statement. After selling they’re most valuable items they [did] have enough money to get each other a Christmas present and both Della and Jim was able to enjoy their Christmas together and as the title states love can be a strange
