Defining Love

In this interview research assignment, “What is love?” is the subject of this research. Our research subject is focusing on defining the meaning of love, the elements a relationship carries, and how to maintain one romantically. The dependent variable (purpose) of this interview is to understand more about the participants’ perspectives about romance in a loving relationship, how they define it, as well as discovering the different point of views between interviewees of different age and gender. There are five research questions in total for the interview, and they are “What does love mean to you?”, “Have you been in love before and how did you know?”, “How do you think the opposite gender defines love?”, “What do you think you need to provide …show more content…
Some of the interviewees think love means to show loyalty, care, support and sacrifice for your other half; treating each other kindly and willing to share everything with each other is a way of love. They think that love is when someone is able to make you feel every emotion fully and you put this person as the first priority. The others think that we cannot exactly use words to elaborate the meaning of love because you need to use your heart to feel it, and the answer about love varies among each individuals. One of the important points that stood out from the interview is that love is not perfect and we should be constantly learning from the mistakes and improve. After the interview, we used our notes and interpreted their responses. We compared the answers that are similar as well as different among male and female of distinct age …show more content…
Men are more about the physicality of relationships when women seemed generally more emotional and loved the idea of love and relationships. Also, it doesn’t seem that age gap affect an individual’s perspective about love, for example most of the participants think romance will not fade in a relationship as long as both parties are willing to provide romance, time duration does not going to affect. They believe that anybody at any age needs to have romance, and romance need to be cultivated. A small portion of the participants think that the fading of romance is actually good if there are too much romance at the beginning of the relationship. As life goes on, we have to face the
