Topic and description of subject
My topic was the evaluation of how the story looked at love and the significance of character development. I felt that this was a very strong topic that not only had good foundation but was interesting to learn about. I described this subject of love and characters throughout my essay. An example of this is, “It may seem black and white to one person but blurry to others. It all depends on convenience, circumstances, past experience, etc. This is why this story handles false love so well.” As I described my subject I was somewhat unclear on what I was evaluating. This may have confused the reader because the essay focused more on what happened in the story rather than focusing more on the concept of love and the development of the characters.. I should’ve gone into more depth with an ethical criteria to discuss the fairness of the situation with the characters and their feelings. Were they being fair to themselves in thinking that they liked each other because of the circumstances? Another way I could have improved in this area was to analyze the author's purpose in more depth and to illustrate what the author was trying to portray about love, not only in general, but in the city of L.A. and in the personalities of the
