Set in young King Arthur’s Camelot, the story focuses on the growing love between Sir Perceval Gales and Joan Port, the tavern owner’s daughter. In addition to the challenges faced by most young couples – ones of inexperience and uncertainty – all they hold dear is threatened by both black magic and a ruthless, unforgiving enemy. From fishing trips to heartfelt talks, Perceval and Joan grow ever closer. Yet the two face many obstacles in their budding romance, including Joan’s concerns about falling in love with a knight and opening herself up to hurt. A turning point occurs where the Sorceress Morgane turns up in the Town Center and openly threatens the knights’ lives. After hearing such a threat, Joan insists she and Perceval must part ways so he can focus on his own survival. However, with the support of their dear friends, Sir Gawain and the ebullient Carina, Perceval and Joan find their way back to one another.
Incorporating elements of history, legend, fantasy, and romance, this novel provides a glimpse into the private lives and bedchambers of King Arthur’s knights.
Tales of Love in Camelot, Book One is the first in a series of four books; I have completed rough drafts of the subsequent three novels. This series follows two generations of knights, and the books center around the themes of honor, justice, loyalty, and most importantly, love.
