In Shakespeare’s A Midsummer’s Night Dream each of the characters, (Hermia, Helena, and Lysander) have their own conflict with love which brought the impression that though there are difficulties in love, giving up isn’t an option. The confident love between the characters plays an emotional roller coaster throughout the play. The impression shined through in each scene and actions between the four characters. The beginning of the play, an intriguing discussion between Lysander, Hermia, and Helena led me to consider that Helena is envious of Hermia. “Call you me “fair”? The scene began with a fairy whom decided to apply love potion to Lysander when he fell asleep. The fairy insists he wakes up and the first person he sees is his true love. This means that the conflict I found in the play has become another complication. The love triangle has changed between Lysander, Hermia, and Helena. Lysander wakes up to Helena and claims his love for her and not Hermia. Helena still stays unconfident and denies his love, and Hermia doesn't understand Lysander ’s decision. This act proves the difficult love because of the changeability in the characters affection for each other. The love triangle changes as characters begin to grow different affection amongst the others. A Midsummer’s Night Dream offers a troubling love duo in all the characters in which causes conflicts and flaws demonstrated between Lysander, Helena, and Hermia. Love manipulated the play and caused difficulties in every scene. Overall, the play gave the impression that even when there was flaws and difficulties in love, giving up isn't an
