Midsummer essay At the end of the play, Helena says that love is blind. Love is blind with Demetrius and Helena. Scolding mad Demetrius yells “ I love thee not, therefore pursue me not.”(2.1,188) Demetrius literally means he doesn’t like her and wants her to stop following him around. Helena says “You draw me to you, hard hearted adamant.’’(2.1,195). Helena means that she knows that she shouldn’t love him,but she does. What it shows us about human nature is that if someone treats you bad and you don’t do anything about it because you love them to much you are blinded by love.
