Love Definition Essay

Decent Essays
Consummate love: This describes the kind of love that my boyfriend and I share, while it sometimes doesn't remain in equal parts. We share intimacy like when I’m ecstatic that he’d gotten a promotion at work or when he takes time to help me study. We both tend to have very strong feelings about things within the relationship, especially during arguments. We also have committed ourselves to each other and each other only and usually make the conscious effort to maintain our love.

Liking: This is the kind of love that I have with my friends, especially school friends. We share common interests and we have the best interest at heart for each other but if our friendship dissipates then it’s more of an “oh well, it was nice while it lasted” situation.

Love is powerful – powerful enough to shatter the dirty habits a person bears. Desire – or lust – is reckless.…
