Love and War
One might ask what is love without war, but the answer will always be the same, there is no such thing. Love and war are two factors in life that are simply always together and are inextricable. That being said, the original play of Romeo and Juliet is a perfect example of love and war showcasing it throughout. However, love and war have also shown up in more recent situations, such as in the book The 5th wave . With the characters, Cassie and Evan also fall in love, but having their whole world being surrounded by war. Overall, the play Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare, and the book The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey both demonstrate the main concepts of love and war.
Love at first sight is a very strong statement, yet it didn’t just happen to Romeo and Juliet, but also to Cassie and Evan. From looking into each others eye at a party, or a unique setting with Evan spying on Cassie and automatically falling in love. As Juliet says, “My bounty is as boundless as the sea,/ My love as deep: the more I give to thee./The more I have, for both are infinite” (2.2 133-135). Meaning, their love is ever growing, and the deeper the love they have, the more the love they give to each other, but overall there is no end to their love for each other.
