In the story Rikki Tikki Tavi by Rudyard Kipling the theme is love can make people brave.
Throughout the story they show love and bravery.

Rikki Tikki is a brave little mongoose in the story. In the text it states, “Then he jumped. His head was lying a little clear of the water jar under the curve of it his teeth just met.” (para.58) This shows the character trait bravery because he fought Nag an animal bigger than Rikki Tikki. This proves my thesis because Rikki fought of Nag since the family loves him and he loves the family so much that he protected them. In the passage, is says, “What’s the matter? asked Rikki Tikki. We are miserable, said Darzee. One of our eggs fell out of the nest yesterday and Nag ate him. H’m! said Rikki Tikki, that is sad, but I am a stranger here, who is Nag?” This is an example of personification because of the way the animals talk like they are humans but, they are animals and animals can not talk in real life. This example of personification proves my thesis because Darzee and Rikki Tikki just met and I think that they are going to be friends so they can trick Nagaina later on in the story. Another example in the story is, “Now, he said when he awoke, I will go back to the house. Tell the Coppersmith, Darzee, and he will tell the garden that Nagaina is dead.” This is personification because because they are talking and there are no coppersmiths of the garden that is just in their world. This also proves my thesis because Rikki Tikki had the power to kill Nagaina the snake from the love that the family gave him.
