When it came to important matters, such as sexuality, dating, violence in relationships, and finances, both of my parents took on the role of talking to us equally. Both of my parents always let my brother and I know that they would love us no matter what sexual orientation, a “preference for sexual parents of the same sex, the opposite sex, both sexes, or neither sex,” we were (Benokraitis, 2015). This made my brother and I feel very comfortable because we knew that we could talk to our parents about sexuality if we ever needed to. With that said, however, I do not remember a specific time where our parents gave us the “sex talk,” and even though we never received that talk from them we did receive it in other places like health class.…

The issues caused by absent mobility are made even more clear by the second verse. Rather than projecting upon a faraway future, the speaker is suddenly face with “here and now” (Palmer 2.14). There are new values that applied to them, but Palmer indicates that they are merely an extension of the previous expectations that reflect an increase in age through the repetition of the phrase “Because I will be the picture of discipline” (Palmer 2.17). As adults, we easily know when we are attached to someone because we know how we feel when we are apart from them, and we can put our feelings into words. But most of the attachment research was carried out using infants as participants, thus psychologist had to devise subtle ways of researching attachment styles which usually involves observation method. The video demonstrated an assessment technique called the Strange Situation Classification (SSC) to investigate how attachment might…

“Being loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage” (Tzu 41). The concept of courage stemming from brotherly love, as stated by Tzu, has been touched for many eons, even by contemporary writers and philosophers such as Dr. King and Harper Lee. King’s article, “An Experiment in Love”, describes the unity of all men and the powerful emotion of love. Lee’s novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, details the adventures of Jem and Scout and how their father, Atticus, demonstrates wisdom and courage through defending To Robinson, an accused rapist. Martin Luther King Jr’s article, “An Experiment in Love”, corroborates that To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee is a love story by stating that the only way to solve the issue…
