You know, I’ve always imagined this day. *metis turn around and get his attention*. I always imagined the day that Riel would be in trial, and everyone who once thought he was a hero now see him differently. Because Riel isn’t the real hero. *pauses* you all think he’s done so much for you, look where he is now.
*pause and sigh* I know you are all devastated about the fact that Louis Riel your “hero” might be thrown in jail, he should be. *metis look at him angrily, he shrugs* what? It’s true. *pauses and a metis says something* He isn’t? *laughs* You all still think he is still a hero, don’t you. *raises voice* Pathetic! He is no hero! Are you not aware of what he has done?! Thomas didn’t deserve all that. None of them did. I believe they did the right thing, because Louis Riel was wrong, and he did the wrong thing! My people were just fighting for what they thought was right, they were fighting because they didn’t like what Riel was doing, is that so wrong? *lower voice* Louis Riel shouldn’t have made that government, because if he hadn’t, none of that would have happened and Thomas Scott would have been here today. But Riel just threw him in jail and killed him! How childish of him! Suppose I had done that to you, to all of you, how would it make you feel? To be thrown in jail, or even executed, just because you fought for something you all thought was right. But, I would never do that! *raises voice again* for I am no Riel, I am better. If I were your leader, I would fight for your rights, much better than Riel did, and at the same time, I would never hurt another. *laughs* and the funny thing is, he fled to the United States right after because he was too much of a coward to stand up for what he did. Do you really want a leader who runs away because he’s too scared to face the consequences? Too scared to admit to what he did? *pause* I think
