Louis Armstrong was born August 4th, 1901. His dad, William Armstrong, was a mentor who also played the cornet and he was still only a little kid when his dad has left the house. Even then his mom left him, shrieking her parental responsibilities. This left Louis with his grandmas paternal to take care of him. She sent him to kindergarten while accompanying him to church where he sang gospel songs and had his first taste of music. Louis didn’t meet his sister, Mama Lucy, until 1905 or 1906. He had an improper technique that caused him trouble throughout his career. Starting to focus on singing now Armstrong made jazz, then become globally and very popular. Once the war ended, he also had more ample opportunities now to play gigs. November 11th, he quit his coal company job. He ended up marrying his first wife, Daisy Parker, and she easily got jealous/ violence. It only lasted 4 years, spending time apart. Ory’s group with him as cornet player lasted until 1919, with him as a cornet player. Louis Armstrong was hired for a job at SS Sidney. In 1918 Armstrong played “moonlight cruises” with Marable, also still being in Ory’s band. After a while Louis left the cruise, rumors have said, because he got tired out Marable’s rules. He became a full time Tuxedo Brass Band member and felt more confident in his abilities thanks to the education he had received a broad Marable’s riverboat. He later would become known for blowing the high C notes. He then began to get a reputation for one of New Orleans top jazz
