One of my first clear memories from elementary school was my first-grade teacher, in the interest of privacy I will leave her name as Ms.R. Ms.R was a teacher that appeared to enjoy literally yelling at students for the smallest of things and used public humiliation as her main tool for discipline. But this kid wasn't sharpening his pencil rather he was taking the metal end that holds the eraser and shoving it in the machine causing it to stop, soon the metal piece came off the pencil and jammed the sharpener, at which point the kid went to the substitute teacher and explained that I had taken the metal piece and jammed it in there myself. This angered the substitute and she made me sit outside for the rest of recess. After she wrote a note to Ms.R explaining what I had “done”, the next day I returned knowing that I was going to be in huge trouble and sure enough I was right.
