Lou Bloom Case

Plot
Lou Bloom (Gyllenhaal) is a thieving loner who roams the streets Los Angeles in search of a job. After witnessing cameraman, Joe Loder (Paxton) recording police officers saving a woman from a car wreck and selling the video to a local news company, Lou realises the potential job opportunity as a ‘Nightcrawler’.
Review
Similar to De Niro’s portrayals of Travis Bickle (Taxi Driver) and Rupert Pupkin (The King of Comedy), Lou is an ambitious individual who is prepared to go to sickening lengths to fulfil his deranged dreams. He holds no ethical concern for what is right and instead is driven by his hope of becoming a successful businessman to stand above everyone.
It is silly enough that Lou to refers to his “company” so highly, especially

Dustin Hoffman v. Los Angeles Magazine An article entitled "Grand Illusions" in the "Fabulous Hollywood Issue!" of Los Angeles Magazine in March 1997 featured several famous film stills altered such that the movie stars appeared to be wearing spring fashions. The scenes included Cary Grant in “North by Northwest,” John Travolta in “Saturday Night Fever,” Elvis Presley in “Jailhouse Rock,” ), and Marilyn Monroe in "The Seven Year Itch.” The final image was a play on the legendary image of Dustin Hoffman posing in front of an American flag from the 1982 film “Tootsie,” but Hoffman was depicted in a Richard Tyler butter-colored silk gown and Ralph Lauren heels instead of the original red long-sleeved sequined evening dress and high heels. One month later, Hoffman filed a $5 million lawsuit against Los Angeles Magazine's owner and publisher, Fairchild Publications (which is owned by Capital Cities/ABC, Inc.), alleging that the photograph misappropriated Hoffman's name and likeness in violation of the California common law right of publicity, the California statutory right of publicity, the California unfair competition statute, and the federal Lanham Act.…

On September 23rd, 2011, Teresa Lewis, a citizen of Danville, Virginia, was pronounced dead by lethal-injection at approximately 9:13 p.m. (Crawford 74). Being that 46 executions took place in 2010, Teresa Lewis’s case would seem indifferentiable to the others; however, evaluations of Lewis’s mental state incited controversy based on the morality of her case (“The Death Penalty…”). The controversy erupted after Lewis’s defense lawyer filed a position for clemency briefly after disclosing that she had an I.Q. of 72, providing the justification that Lewis “did not possess the intelligence to have planned for the killings” (“US woman Teresa…”). Much to the dismay of her defense lawyers, family, and advocates, Teresa Lewis still underwent lethal injection for conspiring to murder her husband and stepson.…
