When you're small deciding to get that cool batman cape or those shoes that light up in the nighttime can be a very difficult decision. You start getting older and the decisions you make start getting more complicated. You now have to choose whether you should do your chores or leave to your friend’s house. As you grow up you realize that the decisions you make are slowly getting more important and that some can even change the future ahead of you. He states “Frankly I’m feelin’ like we ain’t ready”/ “We still kids ourselves”/ “ How we gon raise kids by ourselves”, the focus on "we" reflects on how pregnancy includes both female and men , and it also demonstrates a man who recognizes his responsibility in the pregnancy itself. In the second verse, the young girl stands up for what she believes is right and backfires stating, “Boy, you got some nerve to come up to me talking about abortion, this my body, so don’t think you finna force s***”/ “Trynna take away a life, is you God M***********”, throughout the rest of the song the female speaker does not only express a sense of anger toward her boyfriend but her moral beliefs take over the argument, implying that regardless of the situation she will not have an abortion. Lastly the song closes with both the female and male speakers realizing that they will have to face the consequences. I support the female's perspective rather than the male’s perspective, because I strongly believe that abortion should not be an option and that everyone should be given the opportunity to live. The song in general sparks a fuse about the possible scenarios my mom could've gone through when she was expecting me. Listening to this song leaves me thankful that my mother decided to keep me, just as the female speaker decided to do. Abortion is not a topic you hear about often, the song “Lost Ones” shows how the sense of fear from both, the young boy and the young girl who have just found out a baby is on the way induces them to make a decision that could change their life forever. It shows how the young couple face a challenge but lastly have hope that everything will go fine.
