In many of the different writings that have been done by the Authors Jane Tompkins, Amy Tan, and myself have to do with the changed prospectives that show “utility of error”. Utility of error ties into both the terms Optimistic and Pessimistic. Optimistic tells us “ the experience of being wrong isn’t limited to humiliation and defeat”. Pessimistic meaning “tells us that wrongness is unpleasant, but it doesn't tells us why, and is has nothing at all to say about errors that don't turn it to be disagreed” ( 394 Kathryn Schulz). The model of wrongness with both Optimistic and Pessimistic errors tells us that “ model is harder to recognize around us, since it is forever being crowded out by the noisier notion that error is dangerous, demoralizing, and shameful” ( Kathryn Schulz 394).…

Thomas describes this as “The capacity to leap across the mountains of information to land lightly on the wrong side represents the highest of human endowments.” He is trying to get across that the action of getting to the wrong side is temporary and you will find the best solution to the problem in a matter of time, making it “highest of human endowments.” Reacting to a situation is what really sets apart the person from how they grow from the experience to the people who will rest on their laurels thinking that there is no solution. It is all in the reaction to create a new…

What They Never Told You About Mistakes Is perfection really obtainable? Can we reach this abstraction without first falling and lending ourselves into the hands of failure? Thomas takes the controversial, misinterpreted concept of mistakes and parallels it with a hope so empowering that it yields progress. Most people tend to correlate mistakes with falling short and the incapability to achieve success on a level that offers satisfaction. However, Thomas rightfully and sufficiently sheds mistakes under the same positively-connotative words such as “lucky” and “hope.”…
