My first field trip was supposed to be a riveting one. I was about four years old, addicted to chocolate milk, and had a constant rush of energy. The day of the field trip all of the tiny chil-dren were about to explode because most of us have never been to SeaWorld, let alone know what it was. Our tiny brains couldn’t comprehend what SeaWorld had to offer besides the enor-mous black and white whale on the permission slip we gave our parents to sign.
The bus ride to SeaWorld was one of the worst bus experiences I’ve ever had. They announced three to a seat and everyone’s mood changed. The children were thrilled to sit by not one, but two of their best friends. Except, the few unfortunate kids in my position who sat with their par-ents, or the kids who were known for getting in trouble were forced to sit with teachers. We were all sweating like pigs. I thought I would suffocate sitting between my mom and my older brother, who thought the field trip would be a free ticket to explore SeaWorld.
When we arrived to SeaWorld we all darted to the kiddie area. I ended up crying within ten minutes of being there. This day was is when I realized I had to hold my nose using my two fin-gers to prevent water going up my nose or I’d turn into a whiny crybaby. My mom wrote multiple emails about our experience and I was transferred to a different preschool the following week. I never knew what happened to my partner in crime, who I wandered off with. My mom gave me the sternest preschool lecture she could, before giving me the most pain-ful spanking I’ve ever had. Yet, I continue to be a busy body to this day, this was just the begin-ning of my personality developing for the first time, as a carefree person.
