On the night of April 1, 2007 a mom and two of her three children were killed in a total loss electrical fire. The woman’s husband and their oldest daughter have been close family friends of mine for the past 4 years, and I have seen up close the destructive affects of the horrific loss they suffered 8 years ago. When the two children and mother were killed, the boy was 11, his younger sister only 9, and their mother 34. The horrific ramifications from this loss are the reason I want to join Kimball Union’s fire brigade in order to help prevent these terrible events from destroying innocent people’s lives.
