Losing A Loved One: A Mans Best Friend Have you ever lost someone close to you? A grandparent? An Aunt or Uncle? One of your parents? Well, on July 19, 2014 I lost the keystone holding my family together, Wilson. Wilson was arguably one of the best dogs I ever had, he was my best friend and my wingman (because what girl can resist a cute dog?). I had no recollection of what it was like without having Wilson to come home to everyday as I had grown up with him for the last 10 years. If you grew up with someone for 10 years, how would you feel if he was taken away from you in the blink of an eye? Unfortunately, at the age of 14 I learned the hard way that life can leave you quicker than a super hero can fly around the city to save someone. I …show more content…
Mac came running instantly but Wilson did not move. I walked over to him.
“Wilson!” I called out.
“Willy come here buddy,” trying to get his attention.

Curious, I walked over to him to notice him not even flinching when I called to him.
Little did I know that just a few minutes later my sister had unknowingly not only murdered our dog but also left without even doing anything about it. I was confused I had no idea what had happened, I grabbed the limp, lifeless, lump of fur that had just so recently been running wild through the yard. His tongue flopped onto the ground like a dead fish. My eyes were storm clouds pouring tears and I felt like I could probably shoot lightning bolts into my sister if she was there. I sat there motionless for what seemed like forever my mind was a Nascar track with my thoughts racing around the track. I could not manage the strength to stand up, so I pulled my phone from my pocket and called each of my parents repeatedly. No answer. I kept calling, finally my dad picked up.
“Put mom on the phone,” I wept.
“She’s still in church what do you need?” He asked, innocent to the events that just

My mom was already sobbing excessively while my dad tried to keep a calm and collected look. He walked straight to the garage and grabbed a shovel and began digging. I wiped my tears and grabbed one too trying to get my mind off how my sister could be so heartless to kill such an innocent animal and not even say a word. My parents forced her to leave the party and come home immediately to discuss what happened but I went to my room and didn’t speak to anyone all day. In fact I didn’t speak a single word to my sister for three months after she brutally murdered one of my best

Today is going to be just like any other day, I sketched in my morning journal. The morning Baltimore sun shone past the skyscrapers of downtown, and light protruded through the silk blinds that covered half of the picture window in my room. I rose up from my queen bed. The sheets had become untucked and the comforter lay halfway off the edge. My back rested against the mahogany headboard with my head fitting perfectly between two of the wooden posts.…
