Essay on Lord Will You Make Me Clean?
Matthew 8:1-4 NIV
1When Jesus had come down from the mountain, great crowds followed him; 2 and there was a leper who came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you choose, you can make me clean.” 3 He stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I do choose. Be made clean!” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. 4 Then Jesus said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone; but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
Oftentimes in life people lean and depend on you more than they depend on God. They expect you to fix all there problems, to give them an encouraging word, to loan them money or just have a shoulder to lay their head on. It is our duty to teach them to trust God to supply all of their needs. People have to learn to depend on God for all their needs rather than trusting in man. I want to talk to you today about a man with leprosy who believed Jesus could heal him of leprosy, a man with leprosy who bowed to Jesus, and a man with leprosy who was healed because of the words Jesus spoke.
There are some things that only God can do. Only God can forgive me of my sins. Only God can raise the dead. Only God can heal my diseases. There are some things that you will need to trust God to do. The writer of Proverbs says, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not to thine on understanding.
