Once an object is broken, an attempt can be made to restore its quality, however, no matter how much effort is applied, the quality will never be the same as before. The same concept can be compared to an individual who has displayed an act of cowardness. An effort can be given to have past actions forgotten, but this will only lead farther onto the road of skeptical forgiveness. In the film The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers by Peter Jackson, Jackson shows that with time and effort, an individual can attempt to regain worthiness and acceptance in a relationship, but once an act of dishonesty is shown, that connection will always struggle to recover.
