Lord Of The Flies Why Does The World Need To Fall Apart Essay

In order for the world to become better it needs to fall apart. No one individual can save it, but when the world falls apart, it will come back together eventually. This is to better the world, when it comes back together, it will be better for a time, then fall back apart to form another, greater world. Literature is something that can demonstrate how this happens and how to prevent old mistakes from coming back. If everyone in the world read books, novels, poems, or other types of literature, then the world would become greater and greater everytime a new system developed. Ralph, the leader of the boys -as they voted him to be-, attempted to make a civilized society on the island. He made a group of hunters to get food for the group, and made rules such as “We’ll have to have ‘Hands up’ like at school” (Golding 33), meaning he wanted to create a system where they were organized. As the Hegelian Dialectic states, this system later then falls apart because of Jack, the leader of the hunters -or the antithesis- to form another synthesis, two tribes on the island, separated from one another. Jack did not like the way that Ralph was governing the tribe so he split apart and said to everyone, “Me and my hunters, we're living along the beach by a flat rock. We hunt and feast and have fun. If you want to join my tribe come and see us”(Golding). If this book was widely read by everyone, rules could be created by people to ensure nothing could happen to make a rebellious group, like what occurred in Lord of the Flies. When the boys split apart, a new thesis developed which was better for the boys of Jack’s tribe. Had Ralph joined as well, it would have been better for
