The Lord of the flies Almost every character in the lord of the flies has something good and bad about them, as far as we know Simon is the only character who is Pure Good, even people like Piggy, still have a bad side to them, in that example, Piggy is a very selfish and cocky individual who thinks that everyone else is much less smarter then Piggy thinks of himself. The first character to talk about is Jack, Jack is from the very beginning, known as the person who would argue and be the leader of any type of uprising, which will take on later on in the book. We know this mainly as he comes out as the leader of the boys’ choir group, which was on the same plane as the other kids who did not know each other in the beginning, people like Ralph,…

Through this, the hunters as well as some of the littluns would flock to side, thus fueling his ever growing power. With Ralph and his clique sulking and lamenting about how the power of the conch and even the power that Ralph once held was diluting, Jack would be ordering his followers around and about, proclaiming that, ‘¨Some of you will stay here to improve the cave and defend the gate. I will take a few hunters with me and bring back meat. The defenders of the gate will see that the others don't sneak in.¨’…

Golding uses a third person omniscient point of view in Lord of the Flies. Using this point of view, compared to a first person, allows the reader to know the thoughts and experiences of many of the boys, not just Ralph. This propels the plot of the story by showing the reader that if one boy or group of boys know or think something, and fail to correctly communicate it with the others, that this miscommunication can cause a conflict or event. For example, when Simon goes off by himself and realizes that there is no beast, the other boys ignore him and violently kill him during one of their…
