This is a major act of evil because Jack had ordered all the boys to kill Simon. He feels no remorse after he had ordered his men to kill this “Beast”. Ralph felt the worst because he had just had his tribe ripped away from him, for Jack to turn around and kill one of his own with his old tribe. The next day Jack only worried about getting food and meat for his tribe instead of thinking what he had done and how it affected his people. This is a pure act of evil. For example, “Tomorrow we will hunt again. Some of you will stay here to improve the cave and defend the gates. I shall take a few hunters with me and bring back meat.”. This is proving that the only thing that Jack cared about was meat for his tribe. He didn’t not care that he just killed one of his men, and he also didn’t care that his tribe was upset about it. Jack had stole all of the tribe away from Ralph and made his own leaving only Ralph, Piggy, Samneric, and some Littleluns. Some people might think this because if Jack didn’t take the throne away from Ralph the killing of Simon would’ve never occurred. Killing someone and taking away from someone are two very different things and killing someone is evil taking something away from someone isn’t evil but wrong.
