The cover distinctively illustrates a white beheaded pig with a brown bloody stick or rod of some sort, most likely a branch, viciously stuck up the head from the neck area. Additionally, the head is expelling lavish red blood from the right eye, and furious or miserable tears from the left eye, along with more blood from the mouth and neck section. This is because the dead pig may refer to, or foreshadow the loss of something in the novel on sizeable immense scale. The pig is also shaded differently in each part, and this can be a whole other meaning in itself. The different shades on the pig can represent the different views on an idea or decision taken. The colour also presents the differences in the characters or novel, and the possible dissociation from each other, just how the colours on the pig is different in a lot of the different parts of the pig head. During the French Revolution, the Bastille fortress in France was stormed, and many people of high influence were killed and their heads were put on pikes and paraded around the city as the commoners believed that they weren’t getting a say in decisions and rulings, or were just in opposition to them.
