In the beginning of chapter 6 a man from a place that got shot down fell on the island and was a dead body. All the kids were running and screaming in fear. Jack wants to hunt whatever the thing was down so a group of Jack, Ralph, and some older kids run off to find this thing. The little one are left behind and are afraid because there are barely any older kids to watch them. The group of older kids that left found a pile of rocks on the mountain where the signal fire is so the leader Ralph decides he wants to check inside and there was no beast like in there.
