In that same instant, from the corner of her eye, she saw a severely veined gray arm wrap around her left side, gripping her around the torso tightly with excrutiating pressure. She was so stunned by the sudden occurence, her mind failed to comprehend what had happened, until another arm, equally deformed as the first, swept around her left side, moving with incredible speed, grabbing her by the neck.

The long crooked fingers dug into her warm, soft flesh with a touch as rough as sandpaper and cold as a frigid winter's night, silencing her cry for help. Hot, putrid breath stung the back of her neck. Like a hissing snake poised to strike, an inhuman sound flooded

A swollen, reddened area on her ankle and a weak shake of her head told Morgan that she could not.…

I stood up, and a throbbing pain surged throughout my body as I slung my backpack over my swollen right shoulder and limped my way home. As I was walking through the tall wheat field on my way from school, I saw the back of a tall, white, muscular guy. “No, it can’t be…” I thought to myself, but that orange ugly bowl cut told me that it really was him. He turned around, slowly lifted his right arm in a 90 degree angle, and I saw the only comfort I had in my life missing its left leg. I covered my mouth with tears streaming down my bloodied face, my heart burning with anger.…

One individual; however, has a strong case for himself to be known and remembered as a true worker for the American people. Novelist Edward Bellamy, famous for late 19th century novel Looking Backward, is a true example of a man who was concerned with the well-being of America and determined to find ways to improve the nation. Shell shocked Silence permeated the room as I walked in, eyes full of disgust and acrimony followed me as I ambled to the defense stand or in my case the firing range. Everyone stood as his excellency walked to the podium, a stench of smoke cinders and 90s bar cologne gripped my nose and assaulted all my sense as he walked past. “Please rise, The Court of the Second Judicial Circuit, Criminal Division, is now in session, the Honorable Judge John Smith presiding, everyone but the jury may be seated”.
