“Long Way Down”by Louis Tomlinson is a love song. This song is written about a love that hasn’t exactly worked out, and is now over. In some ways it's a remorseful in the sense that he writes about trying and trying but never succeeding leading us to believe he has some guilt. This song uses irony to showcase the fulling of hopelessness, that nothing you ever do is going to change the outcome. It’s a song for the brokenhearted. This is a romanticism poem with elements of lyric poetry. It is romanticism because it talks about love with personal experience, lyric since it expresses the author's thoughts as well as feelings. It’s constantly pointing out that it is hard to get over heartbreak, stating things like “I try to forgive you, but I struggle ‘cause I don’t know how”. This also showcases the person's loss of trust in their partner. The following line “ I try to forgive you’ which means that he isn’t confident that the person won’t hurt him again.
Shift
This song does not seem to have a shift in it. Throughout the entire song sadness and regret is conveyed. The first and third stanza follow the same mood, and are written the same way. The second and fourth stanza are identical as they are the refrain of the song, so there mood is the same. Failure and regret is the attitude that is showcased in this song.
Title (Again ) After reading the poem the title “Long Way Down” symbolizes getting over a breakup. Tomlinson writes about the struggle of trying to forget and forgive a loved one when they do something wrong. It’s about how joyful and up in the clouds he is about his relationship and now that it's over he has to get off of that cloud so to speak. It’s hard for him to move on because he is so in love with his partner. “Long Way Down” is meant represent the road to getting over a

Response: Although it was near WWII when Robert Frost wrote the poem, it’s not compatible for the reason of the poem. In the original poem in stanza three line two it phrases “The world will end for man”, but it doesn’t say anything about animals. My usumption is that he is trying to say humans will slowly just bring each other down and end the world ourselves instead of natural causes. In the outsiders the meaning is different and instead leans toward to the fact that everything good soon has an ending.…

“Fishhawk” was the first poem of the Classic of Poetry, the earliest poetry collection of East Asia (p.1322). In contrast to many poems in the “Airs of Domain” that propagated Confucianism, “Fishhawk” is a simple love poem. The poem revolves around a young man who was “tormented by his desire for a girl”(p.1322). While this poem is labeled as a “romantic folk song”(p.1322), the good use of literary elements, syntax, and language added a bit of tint to the love story.…

Explication of “Where the Sidewalk Ends” Shel Silverstein’s poem “Where the Sidewalk Ends” is an eclectic concoction; it begins with a playful, childlike stock while stirring in a deeper, mature message. The poem starts its journey in a magically enchanting world, but it shifts suddenly as it travels into darkness. To escape, the speaker suggests following the arrows the children have drawn, pointing away from the grimness to “go where the chalk-white arrows go... To the place where the sidewalk ends” (14,16).…

In the song, Cole sounds frustrated about the topic he’s addressing, as his voice sounds angry, but sorrowful shout throughout his verses, and goes towards a softer, mournful tone during the chorus. The change in tone works with the lyrics as the verses deserve added emphasis and gives an insight into how he feels.…
