Parents are hesitating putting their kids in a sport like football because they are afraid to have to deal with long term issues like concussions. In a recent study, "76 of 79 deceased NFL players found to have brain disease" (Breslow, 2014, p.1) The injuries only come when players are playing the game careless and not correctly. Those things are issues but can be avoided. The leaders of the sports as the NBA and NFL are trying to find ways to promote the right way to play. Instead of the physical sports causing injuries it is actually very beneficial some ways are like in basketball is to always stay fit and healthy.
