An American bomber plane dropped an atomic bomb in Hiroshima and the bomb completely destroyed the city. Three days after, another bomb was dropped in Nagasaki. As a result, both of the bombs dropped in Hiroshima and Nagasaki killed and wounded more than 100,000 individuals and also destroyed many homes, leaving many people homeless. The long-term effects individuals faced were cancer and many birth defects because of a mutated DNA. The bomb affected many Japanese citizens’ lives. After that big incident in Japan, nuclear armament was never used against individuals. The main reason why Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed was so that the world could see how powerful and destructive this bomb was, what this means is that the creators of this bomb wanted to see the how well the bomb works. My first question that comes in mind when hearing about this tragedy is, was it really necessary to use such a deadly weapon? Some say that by using nuclear weapons America and other countries are able to protect themselves from enemies who want to hurt them, but why would they use a bomb when they know how much the bomb would negatively affect others. If they were to protect themselves from enemies, they should use other weapons and have a bigger and more well trained army force. Bombing a place doesn’t solve anissue; you just create a bigger one. When you bomb a country the country simply does the same thing back because they want the country to understand what they went through. Some believe that nuclear weapons are a very useful method incase a country has to deal with aggression from another country. It is said that the better a country can defend itself from enemies, and then most likely the country wouldn’t undergo any harm. Another advantage you get from nuclear weapons is power. Countries that use nuclear weapons have more power and are harder to defeat in war.
