Long Term Effects of Healthy Eating
People take food for several reasons. Just like a power station or any other machinery requires fuel or gas to run their turbines and generate energy, our bodies also need energy. The human body requires energy that comes from food to power itself and to enable it run smoothly. The foods that people eat provide them with different nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, water and fats (Kuskowski, 2013). Other nutrients that we generate from food include proteins and carbohydrates among others. The point of concern is that many people have engaged themselves in poor eating styles that are not healthy to the human body. Poor eating habits result in several health complications that deter normal growth and development.

Many people forget them and end up suffering from common lifestyle diseases that can be easily prevented. Fruits and vegetables are fundamental sources of many vitamins and minerals. One who practices healthy lifestyle is recommended to take at least five fruits per day (Kuskowski, 2013). The fruits and vegetables lower the risk of contracting diseases such as cancer, stroke, and heart problems. The five fruits, as recommended by the health practitioners, should come from different classes or species. It will be essential when one consumes just one banana, orange, apple, mango, and a pineapple by the end of the day (Kuskowski, 2013). When one consumes all the classes of food at every time he or she serves a meal, then he or she will portray a healthy eating …show more content…
Regulation of weight remains a long-term effect only if a person practices the correct habit throughout his or her life. Many people suffer from overweight because of the unhealthy diet. There is a high rate of obesity in the United States that results in 20 percent of American deaths every year (Guenther et al., 2013). One who practices a healthy eating habit realizes a reduced weight. When the weight of the body is reduced, the blood pressure goes down, and cholesterol levels increase resulting in a decrease in the risk of getting Type 2 diabetes. An individual who replaces soda with water or chooses vegetables instead of fries enjoys a life of reduced weight. He or she forgets about the annual spending of about 2,741 dollars that obese people spend on their health care (Guenther et al., 2013). Healthy eating habit is, therefore, a saving plan because one avoids many weekly and monthly medical check-ups that are
