Marketing to children is causing long-term effects such as obesity and diseases like diabetes, heart disease. These things happen because fast food advertising and junk food commercials use the bandwagon technique and say it's healthy and everyone's eating eat you should too. 20%of our youth population morbidly obese do to advertising makes obesity an epidemic. Kids are now making their life span shorter do to this epidemic coming across the world. Our youth now has unlimited access to all of this advertising and are no more prone to this manipulation than before because now many teens and young kids have cell phones 85% of kids age 14-17 have cell phones. So do 69% of 11-14-year-olds and 31% of kids aged 8-10, information found by a 2010 survey
