When i was 11 i discovered long boarding. I was watching youtube video’s one day about hover boards or something and found a video of someone riding down one of the steepest hill which is Baldwin Street in New Zealand which has a gradient of 35%. It's not the steepest hill in the world just the steepest drivable one. So this guy was going a little over 70mph on this long skateboard kinda thing and binge watched long boarding for the next week. I figured out the best brands what to put on it and what to do with it. So i ordered a sector 9 long board. It got to my house on a Saturday and i didn't come off it until Sunday afternoon i loved it. It took me a couple of minutes to get the hold of it then i was going 30-40mph in my neighborhood no …show more content…
So the next day i went out and it was raining I didn't really care that much as it would be easier to carve, I got out to one of the steepest hills in my neighborhood where you are going a solid 30-mph which you have to be to carve. Carving is when you’re going down a hill and just to add a little something extra you turn your board really quickly and your board is facing the side when you're going down a hill and you can only do this for a split second then spin your board back around. So i was about halfway down the hill and I instantly turned my board and turned it back i was still on my board no scratches on my body, no broken bones, and i was still alive. After learning this i knew i wanted to get really good at long boarding and compete with all my …show more content…
When i was 8 me and my dad planned a hunting weekend and a camp-out, Friday night we went out to our spot and setup our tent. The next morning we got up around 5am and set up our ground blind and seats. It was around 8am and a big 8 point deer walked out about 100 yards away and I was using a .243, the scope was sighted in for 100 yards too so all i had to do was line it up and shoot. So I waited for him to get in the clear from the brush to get to our salt block. He started to eat off the block and i lined it up straight with his lungs and gently squeezed the trigger and he dropped right there. After that i couldn't stop thinking about hunting now it's a part of me. I still hunt because of him he taught me how to shoot, track, and kill animals. It’s fun now to me knowing if i was left out in the woods that i could survive for quite a while while i was looking for people. But hunting has made me some friends in school and elderly people. To hunt you have to own land or get permission to hunt on someone’s land. Ive met elderly people to ask to hunt on their land and even when it's not hunting season it's good to keep up with them making sure they are doing ok and seeing if they need anything because they are letting you hunt on their land for free. Someday i'm going to teach my kids how to hunt just like my dad taught me. So i believe that a bow symbol would be good for me because I've grown up with it and formed

The meals this hobby provided for my family are ones I’ll never forget. The memories of the hours of sitting in a blind, either drawing in the dirt, trying to harmonize with the birds, and sitting in my Father’s lap while he let me try and pull back the strong strings of his bow will always be stirred up by the taste of deer meat spaghetti. We earned those meals, we put in hours of work and were patient for weeks and finally after Lord knows how many hunting trips we’d leave with dinner for my family for months. Although the meals were just something my Dad whipped up on a whim, the time I got to spend with him and the effort we put into those meals will be the memories I’ll never…

My life has forever changed since the first day I stepped foot on a skateboard. Whenever I tell people that I am a skater, it seems to conjure up some negative image of a reckless teenager completely disregarding society. I have realized that people adopt these preconceived notions about what it means to be a skateboarder; however, in reality, I just really enjoy cruising around with my friends doing tricks on a bent piece of wood on wheels. Although people mistaking me for some unlawful citizen because I skate is of very little significance to me, the underlying issue that people form ideas about the identities of others without truly knowing them is of great concern to me because it results in the suppression of personal freedoms. To me,…
