Also starred other famous actors including Stockard Channing who played Rizzo, Jeff Conaway who played Kenickie, Didi Conn who played Frenchie (one of the Pink Ladies), and Barry Pearl who played Doody (one of the T-Birds) This movie about young love was released in 1978. By Paramount Pictures and directed by Randal Klieser. A sing-along film based off of a musical with the same name from 1971.

This romantic film is based off of two young lovers, Danny Zuko (played by John Travolta) and Sandy Olson (played by Olivia Newton-John). Danny being the leader of the Black – Jacket Greasers known as the “T-Birds” from Rydell High fell inlove with innocent Sandy Olson from Austrialia who was visiting California for the summer. Taking a twist, when they see each other for the first time since summer Danny tries to put on his tough face in front of the other T-Birds and Sandy doesn’t seem too impressed.

One aspect of this film that was well done is the choreography in all of the songs and especially the “Born to Hand-Jive Dance Scene”, “Grease Lightning” and “You’re the One That I Want”

This musical based movie had great choreography but sometimes poor editing when it came to the timing of sound effects and voices. Other than that it was a well directed movie, the acting was good and the songs were catchy, well written and sung.

The film overall was mostly well done, highly recommended. Potential viewers include teens and adults aged around 14-25. An overall star rating of 4 out of

For this assignment, I watched the film “Pretty in Pink” (1989). Molly Ringwald acted as Andie Walsh, a poor teenager, who lived with her single father as a working class family. Throughout the movie, she struggles with the richer students at her snobbish high school treating her more like a misfit and less of an equal because she has less money. Andie holds her head high and brushes them off. Despite her opinion on people with money, she falls for Blaine, a “richie”.…

The first act primarily gave a background on how those townsfolk settled on Oklahoma Territory. It also illustrated Curly’s pursuit of Laurey, and Ado Annie’s love triangle. The second act was the true execution of everybody’s motives. Curly defeats Jud and wins Laurey over and Will Parker finally earns back $50 to take Ado Annie as his wife. I think the rhythm was smooth and cohesive.…

In the film “Night and the City” it allow us, as the audience, to be trapped in this world of crime, betrayal, lost and death. Our protagonist, Harry Fabian, tries his best to get it to the top by hustling but ends up losing his life. So I’m a little behind on getting to this film, I had read a little about it a few years back, say in 2008. The film was actually released in the US in 2010 so I take a small amount of comfort in that my seeing this film was only really almost five years overdue. And let’s just come right out and state the obvious here, it’s a Frank Henenlotter film let alone the first Frank Henenlotter film since Basket Case 3 in 1992. If you are a fan of Herschel Gordon Lewis or even John Waters then I’ll make the assumption that you know who Frank Henelotter is. If you’ve even seen one of his films and liked it or maybe even have a self-esteem high enough to have modified your own genitalia … then you’re likely to really appreciate this film.…

Singin’ in the Rain (1952) directed by Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen is one of Hollywood’s most famous musicals. As a big fan of musicals, it’s surprising that I have never seen this infamous film. I had preconceived notions about what it would be like and I thought that I wouldn’t enjoy it. However, the movie was nothing like that I thought it would be and I enjoyed the “behind the scenes” style of film that the director used to show the transition between silent films to talkie.…
