The best place in Long Beach

The Aquarium of the Pacific is the best place in Long Beach; it’s educational, fun, and entertaining. The Aquarium is educational for the following reasons; first, it features a collection of over eleven thousand animals, representing five-hundred different sea species. Secondly, these species range from the porcupine fish, giant octopus, and puffins, to the jellyfish, spider crabs, and so much more! For each of these different species, you will learn about their habitats, eating habits, and their mating rituals. The Aquarium also offers “Teacher, family, and student days”.
These are the days that are best suited for students whom are seeking to become Marine
Biologists.

Other areas of fun that are offered are the “family sleepover days”. Go dressed in your pajamas, and take late night tours, while eating on popcorn. Or, you can enjoy the many fun games they have like “turtle trivia”, and create fun ocean-themed crafts to take home with you. The Aquarium is also entertaining. This is due to the many performances of the aquatic animals such as, the seals and otters. During their performances, you get to see them doing all types of tricks. From dolphins leaping out of the water playing games, to sea otters doing summersaults in mid-air; while the seals are hitting balls with their mouths, and applauding the audience. Also entertaining are the sea jellies. You will be amazed of their displays of color.
Some will have colorful electric currents running through them, while others have bright lights that are flashing on and off throughout their boneless structure. Equally entertaining is the music of the jellies; which is where their movement is translated into sound electronically. If you are quiet, you can hear the wonderful, soft sounds of the jellies. Finally, while at the aquarium, you can step outside for more entertainment. Pull in views of the Queen Mary, or one of the

Air Pump: Air bubbles in salt water aquariums cause salt creep. If you have equipment in the tank that is making bubbles, like a protein simmer, you want to get yourself these. The camp you will be staying at is off the coast of Southern California and is on the North Western side of Catalina. It is 22 miles from Los Angeles which is where you board the ship that takes you to Catalina. When you are outside (or sometimes even when you are inside), the temperature is normally really warm and sometimes humid so I would suggest bringing and applying sunscreen in the morning and after every meal. Some of the native plants are eucalyptus trees, pine trees, moss, and cherry trees. The cherries that are on Catalina Island are different than what we are used to.…

I chose the Vancouver Aquarium because it is known to be the largest aquarium in all of Canada and gives us a clear representation of why the Pacific Maritime is famous for their sea animals. One of Pacific Maritime’s most popular attraction is whale-watching but instead of making a game out of it and risk not seeing a whale, the Vancouver Aquarium represents the whales in a historic way. This particular Aquarium has a long past with whales like the killer whale, Moby Doll who was the second whale to ever be placed in an aquarium during 1964.…

As stated before in our first lecture, dance is a living and fleeting art form. I believe that dance is a living art form because it is a three-dimensional picture to art. What I mean by this is that, art is normally seen on walls or as sculptures, but dance is an amazing opportunity to view art while in movement. If you are anything like me, when I look at a painting of two people or many, I always wonder what it would be like to see them actually dancing, singing, or even laughing. By watching dance, it is my living art form.…
