From the difficulty of its style, writing villanelles consists of 19 lines that include the arrangement of five tercents, and quatrains which interrelate through the stanza from the first through the third lines. With its complexity, it becomes very hard to interpret. This style of composition was introduced by “French courtly poets…” (729). This could in a sense reflect the loneliness of the poet. The special use she makes through the repetition of the stanza appear to be longing or the desire to not be alone. “Do you live in London? Is it you?” (729). And, “Can someone make my simple wish come true?” (729). Cope does this by questions that relate to one another from line one through line three (villanelles)
