Sophomore year I read a book with a profound sense of alienation and loneliness, called Of Mice and Men. Everyone in the book was alienated, the two main characters, a handicapped man, a man of a different ethnicity, and a woman. Even though they had many people surrounding them they still felt lonely inside. They each had something so small yet so noticeably different that set them apart from the others. As did I.
When I was just 7 years old when my parents decided to move to the United States. My life as I knew it was about to take a massive turn.
