Loneliness might get in the way of someone’s dreams. Sometimes dreams need more than one person to become reality. Some of these dreams can’t be accomplished because of loneliness. Loneliness can hurt and affect many people, but why? It affects people because loneliness hurts. It can affect people emotionally and physically. It can cause people to feel lost, depressed, and unwanted. It can bring people down instead of bringing them up. Dreams are important. In the novella, Of Mice and Men, some characters had dreams. Dreams that include being in the movies, getting their own place , and tending the rabbits.
Curley's wife enjoys sneaking off to the bunkhouse to talk and flirt with the boys, but what people fail to notice is that she’s lonely. When Curley’s wife was talking to Lennie she said,’’’I get lonely. You can talk to people,but I can’t talk to nobody,

George is lonely. He has no family, except for lennie .George says to slim,’’Him and me was both born in Auburn. I knowed his Aunt Clara….. When his Aunt Clara died, Lennie just come along with me out workin’. Got kinda use to each other after a while’’ (Steinbeck 40). Without George there would be no Lennie and without Lennie there would be no George. They go with each other, like two peas in a pod. Just like Curley’s wife, George has a dream too. When George and Lennie were talking in the woods, George said,’’’Get A gallon of whisky , or set in a poolroom and play cards or shoot pool’’’ (Steinbeck 11). He would be able to do a lot more if Lennie wasn’t with him. When George was still talking to Lennie, George said,’’’ Why I could stay in a cat house all night long’’’(Steinbeck 11). Lennie is what stands in the way the way of George achieving his dreams, but he doesn’t understand that. To change his dream. He had a dream for Lennie and him to achieve.
