Lone Survivor: Speech by Brooke Macrini

Brooke Macrini’s speech about Peter Berg’s 2013 film, “Lone Survivor,” gave us a picture of just how excited she was about the film, but also why we should watch it. Some of the key aspects we will be looking at in an evaluation of her delivery are her statements about the film, her actual delivery of the speech, some of the things she did right, and some of the things she could have done better.
Brooke’s speech was mainly centered on a couple of key point’s; the camaraderie and brotherhood that is central to the story, the riveting action throughout the entire film, and her own reactions and emotions while watching the film. She focused on the parts of the film that were relatable to her and was keenly able to zero in on the film’s greater theme of brotherhood and the importance that plays not only in the film, but

Even though she didn’t have a formal clincher or something to capture our attention at the beginning, she was able to keep our attention and peek our interest by the enthusiasm that she presented her topic with. It would be difficult for anyone to doubt that “Lone Survivor” was a good film, by judging on her enthusiasm and motivation alone. Her mannerisms and gestures were used in a way that was effective and evoked the very type of emphasis and emotion she wanted to express. Brooke also showed an ability to make it relatable and even jokingly said to the girls, “C’mon ladies it’s a movie with cute guys in it, what better reason to watch it.” Her personality did shine through which kept us engaged. Her volume and pitch showed that she was in control and was confident, while her rate was a little fast and could have come off a bit hurried or nervous at times.
