Chloe Kim is an Korean American snowboarder, born in Long Beach, California in April 23, 2000. Her parents are originally from South Korea. Kim’s father quit his job to drive her to the mountains and also to be able to travel with her when she competes. He started her on a snowboard at 4 years old at the southern California resort of Mountain High and started competing at age 6 as a member of Team Mountain High. She trained in Valais, Switzerland, from 8 to 10 years old before returning to California and training at Mammoth Mountain. Kim joined up with U.S. Snowboarding in 2013.
Kim is a Korean American, being a second-generation American; her parents are immigrants from South Korea. Kim still has extended family living in South Korea, where she competed in the 2018 Winter

I chose Chloe Kim because she is a person who could be a great role model for young girls all around the world. A girl like Chloe teach us to empower ourselves, reach beyond normal expectations, and achieve our dreams, whatever they may be. If Kim can set world records, so can any other girl out there with enough passion and hard work to get the job done. It just shows that you can do anything you put your mind to. Chloe is following her snowboarding dreams and has accomplished so many things at a young age. She is hoping to accomplish many more things in the future that would impact
