What would you say if I was to tell you that within three days a festival will change the way you look at everything in a whole? How would you feel about the situation and would you write a paper about it? I can say that I have, and it is something that did change the way I look at music and culture in general.
Within three days everything that I thought I knew about Lollapalooza and concerts in general would change forever. In case you are not sure what Lollapalooza is I will describe it for you. It is a concert that brings rock, metal, country, rap, hip hop, electric music, pop, and alternative all together in one huge three day concert in Grant Park in Chicago IL. On the other hand maybe she was just an expressionist? Humanities are the study of art, history, and culture and Lollapalooza is based of art, history, and culture. It was created to bring a wile variety of music and people together all under one festival. Spacing it out over three nights was also nice because you can space out your time if you choose between shows. Between all the era’s that we have studied in class, I would have to say that Lollapalooza is closest to The Renaissance era. Just like The Renaissance era, Lollapalooza was first created to create a rebirth of some music genera’s in the Chicago land area. Another way that The Renaissance era and Lollapalooza related is by how Lollapalooza allowed for the smaller bands the chance to become widely know and get their name around town. This is similar to The Renaissance era, where new artist were coming out of Italy and other city to make their mark on art
