In this film, Harlow is Lola Burns, a popular film star who is tired of playing roles that cast her as a sexpot. She dreams of having a new image and thinks that marrying Marquis de Binelli (Ivan Lebedeff) will bring her some respectability. But publicity agent, Space Hanlon, who works for her studio (and who loves Lola, but is just too darn busy thinking of publicity schemes, to tell her) ends up having the marquis arrested as an illegal alien.
Film director Jim Brogan (Pat O'Brien) wants Lola to marry him and he proposes, but she refuses. She then decides to adopt a baby, but when adoption officials come to her home, her brother (Ted Healy) and her father (Frank Morgan) end up ruining her chances for adoption.
