They came from two very different worlds, and everything that Matthew did fascinated Logan. How someone could sit and pour over book for hours, or willingly get in a pool and swim multiple laps, Logan would never understand. He had no idea really what (or why) Matthew did for fun.
Logan didn’t know that such pleasures that Matthew enjoyed included sleeping.
Logan looked down at the beautiful boy that was in his lap, using his thigh as a pillow. His breathing was soft and level, his long, dark lashes touching his pale cheeks. Logan was gently running his fingers through Matthew’s short, dark curls, humming softly as he raked his fingers over Matthew’s scalp. There was something addicting and striking about watching Matthew sleep. He was so gorgeous, and he looked so peaceful. He was such a busy kid, he was enrolled in so many classes, and he was constantly practicing for band. But out of all the things to do in that moment, Matthew had chosen to curl up beside Logan, lay his head on his lap, and lose himself in unconscious vulnerability. And he had done so very willingly, placing himself completely and wholly into Logan’s care without question.
It was really quite a wonderful thing to have something as precious and perfect as Matthew’s complete and irrevocable trust. Just like it was quite a beautiful thing to have someone like Matthew in Logan’s life.
Matthew shifted a little in his sleep, eyes fluttering under their lids. Logan watched, fascinated, wondering what Matt dreamed about whenever he
