Locatio Location: A Deep Sacrifice

Monuments are statues or areas that honor a deep sacrifice or a very important person in a country. A monument helps connect the present to the past by linking the two together; “I wanted to create a unity between the nation’s past and present.” (Lin) The creation of a monument should be considered only when a deep sacrifice has been made and the location, along with the price, is reasonable.

A monument should be constructed when a deep sacrifice to the country has been made; “all the names of those missing and killed (57,000) must be part of the memorial;...” (Lin) This evidence shows that those 57,000 people that either went missing or were killed made an enormous sacrifice for the United States. The site of the monument will help give off the monument’s aura which will help people connect to the statue or area.

Money is another important key factor in the creation of a memorial so they have enough money to create the monument and to keep it standing; “The association has enough money to keep it running for at least two years…” (Kosareff) Money is required to be able to have the memorial created. It is also needed to buy the land and keep it running if it needs to be.
