Locally Funded Scholarship

I would benefit from privately funded scholarships in the following ways: reduced student load debt, decreased work hours / more time spent on school work, increase my likelihood of beginning and finishing my school career at the same university as opposed to starting at a local two year school and transferring later.
A privately funded scholarship would help greatly in reducing my college debt after I finish my four year degree. I do not have a lot of money saved for my college career and I have not been awarded any of the big dollar scholarships. Currently I am looking at borrowing a large portion of my tuition and living expenses if I start and finish at a four year university. This will allow me to have more time to dedicate to my classes and to be involved in campus activities. My mother worked sometimes as many as five jobs to cover the cost of her college education. I am happy to work in school to help pay may way, but I do hope to find a balance between being a working student and being a fully dedicated student. By being awareded a privately funded scholarship it would reduce the amount of time I would need to work out side of school. This will help me learn ore in my classes and to be involved in the college experience.
A privately funded scholarship would aid me at being able to start my college career at a four year university. The alternative for me, if I do not find funding will be to start my degree at a local two-year college and then transfer to a four year school to finish my degree program. While this is a great option and works for many students, I am excited about the opportunity of starting and finishing at the same college. This will give me more opportunities to make life long connections and to take advantage of the programs offered at a four year
